Clear Channel run by MORONS
A personal quest or just a serious personal statement that I am fed up with Big Business thinking they know what is best for their audiences, I am speaking of Clear Channel firing "Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw". WTF, seriously WHAT THE FUCK?? Instead of selling off all the bill board signs they own, cutting back their senior staff, taking a PAY CUT themselves, they decided to REMOVE an Icon in San Diego.
If you think I am a nut or you don't know what I am talking about, see the Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw Wikipedia, these guys were very popular and DID A LOT for not only making our morning commute better, but they really helped out with their charities and bringing and supporting the biggest fireworks show west of the Mississippi.
I invite you to join me to STOP listening to their station or advertising on their Bill Boards or Radio stations. This BIG COMPANY has lost it's way by removing the entertainment many people depend on in this seemingly hopeless time of economic stress. Support this effort to further put Clear Channel in more economic distress as they are close to bankruptcy as it is.
For the third time in less than five months, Clear Channel Communications is dropping one of its most popular morning shows, after the announcement that the 101 KGB morning radio show “Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw” is off the air.
An announcement that the radio show, which featured hosts Dave Rickards, Shelly Dunn and Cookie “Chainsaw” Randolph, is no longer on the air was posted Monday on KGB’s Web site.
“After extensive negotiations, and offering the DSC team a very lucrative, multi-year offer, we were unfortunately not able to reach an agreement to keep the show with KGB,” the statement reads. “We wish Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw all the best in their future pursuits and thank them for their contribution to the station,” the statement continues. “KGB has had a special relationship with listeners in San Diego as the leading classic rock station for many years. We look forward to continuing that tradition.”
Rickards told NBC San Diego he was notified of the cancellation over the weekend.
“We want to be on KGB,” he said. “We want to finish our careers there. We hope that can still happen, but that looks unlikely.”
The decision comes just weeks after it was reported that Mikey Espraza, host of the popular “Mikey Show” on Rock 105.3 was leaving the station after a contract dispute. In August 2009, ClearChannel chose not to renew the contracts of Jeff Detrow and Jerry Cesak, hosts of “The Showgram” on Star 94.1. Detrow and Cesak insisted that their five-person morning show team be offered contract extensions as well, but the communications corporation wouldn’t budge. Jeff & Jer have yet to be picked up by another San Diego station.
