If you are in network marketing, direct sales or affiliate marketing; networking is NOT about Selling your products or services, it’s about connecting with people on a level where a relationship of trust is built. Simply pushing your products or services with an elevator speech is the FASTEST way to turn someone off and they WON’T talk to you or return your calls.
Do the people in your life lift you up and do you lift the people up in your life?…
You should always be willing to lend a hand, an ear and even a shoulder.
A mentor once said to me and I believe it came from Zig Ziglar, “Be More Interested than Interesting.” This simply means be curious about another person in a helpful manor and not a probing one. Stop talking about yourself, it’s okay to reference something in common, but turning the conversation back to a question of the other persons interests shows you care and you are a person of character.
So BE a FRIEND to Get a FRIEND.
Remember people only do business with people that they know, like and trust….
How to the people in your Network Know you? (do they know your birthday, email, cell number, what you do, who your family is, etc…)
Do the people in your Network Like you? (if you are not being invited to activities, re-check your answer)
Do the people in your Network Trust you? (are they willing to confide in you on other subjects?)
Remember you will be the SAME person 5 years from now, except for the people you meet and the books you read… go ahead upgrade your software, your brain, with a good book.
